All young children can be naughty, defiant and impulsive from time to time, which is perfectly normal. However, some children have extremely difficult and challenging behaviours that are outside the norm for their age.
There are many children in the world that suffer from some type of behavioral or emotional issues that result in bad behavior.
‘Any children display inappropriate or behaviour problem in the classroom whichcan make it difficult for them to learn, cause harm to the child or others and isolatethe child from his or her peers. Psychologist and counsellor often speak of behaviour problems in terms of the effects they have on others. Therefore, we may label behaviours as “noncompliant”(e.g., when a child refuses to join a class activity) “disrespectful” (e.g., when a child uses bad language) “aggressive” (e.g., when a child throws a book). It will be pertinent to define what behaviour is then proceed to define the compound word behaviour problem.
Behavioural problems can happen in children of all ages. Some children have serious behavioural problems. The signs to look out for are:
If the child continues to behave badly for several months or longer, is repeatedly being disobedient, cheeky and aggressive;
If their behaviour is out of the ordinary, and seriously breaks the rules accepted in their home and school. This is much more than ordinary childish mischief or adolescent rebelliousness.
Children with behavioral issues need to have some type of therapy that allows them to express themselves without consequences and then slowly build up their level of trust with the counselor. Once this is done the child can begin to learn the reasons for their behavior and what the trigger points are and how to deal with those issues once they arise.
